Diversity: Seeking Opinions as a Manager

This Activity would complement any of our courses related to diversity.

This Activity includes a short instructional video to introduce the topic and discuss what must be done to implement the activity. You can follow the step-by-step instructions in the Implementation Guide to easily take action on the job in order to build this skill. Within the Implementation Guide is a self-assessment for you to evaluate your results. Some activities include Microsoft Word job aid documents to help you perform the action steps.

This Activity will help you achieve the following objective: Actively seek the thoughts and opinions of others in key situations.

This action is made for managers and is designed to help you solicit the ideas and opinions of others. As a manager, you will perform this action with your employees. By performing this action you will learn how to actively seek the thoughts and opinions of others in key situations. You will track and record the situations in which you ask your employees for their thoughts and ideas on situations that involve or impact them.

Completing the Activity on the job should take you 8 to 10 hours over the next four weeks.
