Workplace slips, trips, and falls cause 17% of disabling injuries and 15% of fatalities. This safety training course shows the hazards that lead to workplace slips, trips, and falls in an office setting, and the safe practices to prevent them from happening.
This course explains what a person’s center of gravity is, and how to maintain balance. The center of gravity is where the weight of the body is equally distributed: half of the weight above the center of gravity, and the other half below. If the upper half of the body extends beyond the lower half, an individual can lose their balance and fall. Viewers learn how posture, bodyweight, lifting, carrying, and other factors affect one’s balance.
More slips, trips, and falls occur in workplaces that are messy and run down. Accidents can be prevented by keeping the workplace well-lit and clean. For example, non-skid carpeting or rubber mats should be placed in slippery areas such as entrances. Walkways should be kept clear, and stairways should have handrails and be free from obstacles.
Viewers also learn about ladder safety, and the different types of walking surfaces.
Present this safety training course to teach your team to create and maintain an office free from the hazards that cause so many slips, trips, and falls.
