Safety should be the top priority in every workplace. This training video teaches employees how to establish and maintain a safe work environment through ongoing practices such as accident prevention, using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and other safety measures.
Most accidents can be prevented by removing the hazardous conditions that cause them. Viewers learn how to do this in three steps: inspect the work area, look for hazards, and have the hazards removed. Some examples of accident prevention include ensuring walkways and exits are clear of boxes and debris and eliminating fire hazards, such as not overloading outlets and replacing damaged electrical cords.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as steel toed boots, goggles, and gloves are worn to prevent injuries. Respiratory protection should be used when there are harmful fumes or dust in the air. This course also covers the importance of mental preparation, safe work practices, and preparing for emergencies.
