This online video training class educates viewers on the potential risks and rewards of dealing with the media during an emergency situation. This video explains to employees the proper ways to speak with the media during a crisis and gives examples of ways to build a good relationship with the media before, during, and after an emergency.
When a hazardous situation occurs the media may approach any available employee to get information, especially if they feel they are not being given enough information. This training teaches employees the proper way to respond if they are approached, and explain why it matters. Viewers learn how to work productively with the press if an incident occurs.
In an emergency, the media's job is to give information to the public. An employee who understands their part within the information cycle is less likely to say something inappropriate or inaccurate to the media that could be damaging to their company. Use this training to prepare employees to deal with the media should a crisis situation occur.
