Overview

A continuation of Part 1, which teaches the origin, purpose, implementation, and effects of Reasonable Suspicion Testing, Part 2 of this course gives managers and supervisors the insight and guidance they need to effectively recognize and act upon employee drug or alcohol use while in the motor carrier workplace.

Because Reasonable Suspicion Testing does not require hard evidence, managers and supervisors are responsible for proactively responding to behaviors that indicate a motor carrier driver, mechanic, or warehouse worker is likely under the influence of alcohol or illegal or controlled drugs. Upon completing Part 2, managers and supervisors will learn the following: Behavioral Signs Of Alcohol Use; Physical Signs Of Alcohol Use; Approaching The Employee; Drug And Alcohol Testing Basics; How Drug And Alcohol Tests Are Conducted; Removal And Return-To-Duty; Getting Help For Substance Use Disorders.

Use this course to assure supervisors and managers of motor carrier employees know when and why to use Reasonable Suspicion Testing and how to implement each step in the process.
