Performance reviews allow managers to assess an employee’s work performance, identify strengths and weaknesses, provide feedback, and set goals. Employees can use the review to inform managers of obstacles they face. The goal of performance reviews is to communicate to the employee what they are doing well, how they can improve, and what is expected of them.
Performance reviews provide an opportunity for managers and employees to evaluate how an employee is doing in their position.
