All-Terrain Vehicles (ATV) are being used increasingly at work, making it imperative to know how to properly and safely operate one. This short instructional video provides information on how to correctly ride an ATV, conduct a pre-ride check, and properly navigate the vehicle on different terrains.
The video demonstrates conducting a pre-ride inspection, stressing the importance of knowing where the warning labels are on the vehicle and thoroughly reading the operator's manual. Reading the operator's manual is important because the parking, driving and reverse gears are located on different places with each bike. Besides knowing where the location of gears is it is important for the rider to become familiar with their vehicle.
The importance of wearing a helmet is demonstrated in this video. Another point covered in the video is how to navigate an ATV; the video models how to use your body weight to turn to prevent it from tipping it over. Proper ways to ride up and down a hill are discussed as well.
ATVs can be a useful tool on a job site, helping you get from one point to the next while carrying a small load; however, one must remember to keep safety a priority. Learn about the safety precautions unique to using ATVs in an industrial setting with this online training.
